Both the HippoDam™ 90 and HippoDam™ 60 ranges are supplied in standard lengths of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 meters. Dams can be joined together with the HippoDam™ collaring system so that longer lengths, and angled turns, can be achieved.

Introducing the HippoFlood™ mini (aka the HippoSpill)…

Based on the effective engineering principles of its larger cousins, the HippoFlood™ mini is designed to defend against floodwater depths up to 25 cm (about Wellington boot height). The HippoFlood™ mini is used as a sandbag replacement, over which it has several key advantages, including…

  • Sandbags will not seal out water. Sandbags seep water even when well-stacked and trodden into place.

  • Filling and laying sandbags is very time-consuming and labour-intensive. Sandbags are difficult to handle.

  • Sacking material is biodegradable and will perish if left in place for a long time.

  • It is difficult to place sandbags in water, particularly in running water.

Conversely, the HippoFlood™ mini is a versatile and effective flood barrier that is easy and quick to deploy by one operative. The HippoFlood™ mini can be filled from any available water source (e.g. household tap or the floodwater itself) and can also be deployed post-inundation if needed.
